week two; post-investigation noodles

[there's really not much thought that goes into this—but they have to eat lunch at some point... once noct finds his appetite again.

so it's to the general store to pick up a couple of cup noodles, boiling some water—and then carrying the two containers to percy's room, using his foot to knock on the door. they got stuff to talk about.

I'm going to assume you mean some other asshole than the Sheriff, but then again he's the one pulling us in here before we can take care of some pretty major stuff. [A pause.] I'm not supposed to call you "Your Highness" or anything am I? Because that's not happening.

[fuck ardyn. fuck the sheriff. both cause people he cares about to get deda. it's.. fine. he'll frown for a moment, because there is just a lot of major stuff going on and him dying is.

it's just not something that can happen before he at least fixes stuff at home.

No formalities needed. If I was looking for it, I would've mentioned it earlier. Not really into friends treating me like some kind of untouchable, anyway. [though he is a very pampered boy, it's fine.]

[There's a sage nod.] Gets a little tiring sometimes, doesn't it? People looking at you and thinking you know exactly what you're doing and believing you aren't affected by a lot of the stuff going on around you. I think I kind of get it.

[There's a huff around his fork.] This kind of supports my thing about the Sheriff dragging us here when we're really important back in our worlds, too.

Seems like it's a pretty safe bet. Other people seem to be under that impression too.

[but you know, more importantly:] So you gonna tell me some of your story, or am I the only one doing show and tell here?

[hydrokinetics]

[A laugh.] Noctis, I don't even know if you'd believe me if I told you the half of it. You're sure you want to know that kind of information?

Two-way street—you don't really know the half of mine, either.

Might as well give me a little hint. Call it even—what's a little backstory between friends, right?

Guess that's a good point. [There's a lopsided smile.]

Okay. Let me ask you something. [How did Annabeth explain this to someone else...] What do you know about the divine?

What... you mean, like gods or something?

[he just wants to make sure they're on the same page.]

Yeah, like gods. Anything? [That's promising, at least Noctis is on the right track...probably.]

[elemancy]

Guess you can say I've had a run-in or two with the ones where I'm from.

[so. he knows a thing or two... about the eos gods, at least.]

[He stops suddenly, staring and there might be noodles in his mouth trailing into the cup but at least he gets over his surprise and bites through to cut them apart.]

Really? You've fought with them or something?

Sometimes we fight. Sometimes they give me a hand when something's really kicking my ass.

[thanks, mostly ramuh for that. it doesn't stop noct from snorting a bit at his expression.]

Guess you can call it... kinda complicated, like everything else. [though he's not entirely sure where percy is going with this one.]

Maybe this won't be that weird then. [He's actually very, very surprised by all of this but. You know, this just makes it easier.]

Half... god.

[well, he looks surprised, but not because he doesn't believe percy. honestly, it's just:]

Didn't... even know that was a thing. [though maybe it's because it baffles him to think of an astral, like titan or ramuh and... you know, a normal human.]

They're known as demigods where I'm from, or half-bloods. So...I get it. Dealing with them, sometimes getting mad at them and sometimes getting them mad at me. Sometimes they're helpful, sometimes they aren't.

[A shrug.] When I first woke up here, I thought maybe this was their fault.

Seems like as good a reason to think as any. Could've thought of a few similar ones myself.

[thought that was less astrals and more "ardyn-related fuckery," but that's not important right now.]

Guess that's what happens when you start dealing with those types, huh.

At least that would make more sense than whatever this is. I know how to do will gods who think I stole their symbols of powers and angry titans and giants. This? I have no idea what to do with this.

Sure as hell makes two of us. Not sure there's really any way of making heads or tails of it without some clues about the parts we don't know.

Then we should probably start making a list of what parts we don't even know. Biggest thing? His employers. He's not talking about them at all.

Yeah. Not even sure how we'd get that answer out of him. Haven't found any signs of anyone else, either.

[honestly, that's probably the biggest mystery of all.]

What do you think the likelihood is that they're kind of invisible? That camera showed up out of nowhere. Maybe they would, too.

Seems kind of out there. Not saying it's impossible but...

[hm.] I think they're just out of sight. Like watching from a control room or something like that.

Second story of the Sheriff's station? Or maybe that train. Did you get a good look at that thing? The shadows are a little weird since Jason and I couldn't even break into the train at all.

Could be either of 'em. Could be one of the boarded up places, too.

[anywhere they don't have easy access to.]

Could be even further away than that, though.

Sheriff did say there's nothing stopping us from going out of the town and into the desert. He also said we'd probably die, but that doesn't mean there isn't anything out there.
